Bank Mandiri Support Professional Competence Development Program for Teachers

Today, Bank Mandiri in collaboration with the School Development Outreach, an initiative of the Sampoerna Foundation, which aims to improve standards and quality of schools in Indonesia as well as his teachers, implement the Teacher Professional Development Workshop and Head Elementary School in Bali using Community Development funds worth Rp. 499 180 000, -

According to the Preliminary Competency Test (UKA) 2012 teachers conducted by the Ministry of Education and Culture (Kemdikbud) conducted in February, found that the average national teacher UKA is still low. UKA teacher 2012 followed by more than 280,000 teachers from kindergarten through high school level indicates the average value is 42.25 with a highest value of 97.0 and the lowest value of 1.0.

One important factor supporting the advancement of a nation is the quality of education of the country, including the quality of teachers, students and school facilities. 2012 UKA results suggest that teacher education should still continue to be implemented to improve the quality of education in Indonesia as the main tool for the formation of the next generation. Quality education is the education of future generations are able to print quality as well.

These activities are also conducted to establish the paradigm of teacher education of the 21st century which is expected to impact the way they carry out their main duty to facilitate students in learning activities. It is expected the teachers to indicate a change in her teaching to be more student-centered with teacher as facilitator in the learning activities in class.

In addition, the program also provides the material basis of pedagogy such as classroom management both physical and psychological environment, including how to manage student behavior in a learning attitude.

Assistance from the Community Development Program funds Bank Mandiri is one form of Bank Mandiri concern to the education sector. This sector is part of the focus of CSR activities of Bank Mandiri.

In 2011, the distribution of environmental development program at Bank Mandiri Denpasar reached Rp3, 4 billion to finance CSR activities in education, natural disasters, public facilities, religious facilities, health and nature conservation.
