Improve the Quality of Education, Bank Mandiri Helps ITB Rp1, 02 Billion

Bank Mandiri provides community development assistance environment totaling Rp1, 02 billion to the Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) to improve the quality of learning. Delivery of assistance has been committed by Bank Mandiri president director Zulkifli Zaini to the Rector of ITB Akhmaloka coordinator and witnessed by Minister Hatta Rajasa, Minister of Education M. Noah and the Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Fadel Mohammad in London, Saturday (9/7).

Of the total aid, amounting to Rp625 million will be allocated to hold a train of trainers for faculty and senior students of ITB on "The 7th Habits of Highly Effective College students". Then, a fund of 400 million used for the procurement of laboratory equipment Civil Engineering Faculty of ITB.

Bank Mandiri president director Zulkifli Zaini said that all aid is expected to spur the students to improve the quality of learning and produce brilliant works that could bring Indonesia continued to grow into a better rate. Previously, some time ago on October 21, 2010, Bank Mandiri has awarded scholarships to students through the program ITB ITB Scholarships For All (anesthetic) Rp1, 1 billion for 10 (ten) outstanding students during the study period. The scholarship also covers tuition fees and living expenses.

"We want to keep increasing role in improving the quality of education in Indonesia, because we believe that a good education, the desire to make Indonesia a prosperous society can be realized" Zulkifli said Zaini.

Zulkifli Zaini went on, the implementation of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in 2011, Bank Mandiri is carried out through three main pillars: achieving self-reliance and entrepreneurship education achieved by implementing the program Young Entrepreneurial Self and Self-Care Education which aims to create future leaders who are ready to global competition.

Then, form a self-contained community through the implementation of the Joint Mandiri Mandiri program that aims to foster community groups / communities in an integrated way in terms of capacity, infrastructure, capabilities and access.

The last pillar is the provision of environmentally friendly facilities through the implementation of six major programs, namely the provision of support facilities for water supply clean, renewable energy, planting trees on marginal lands, mangrove planting and maintenance, procurement of urban parks and eco tourism development.

Distribution of Bank Mandiri CSR conducted through the Partnership Program and Community Development, Community Development funds have been channeled to Bank Mandiri in 2011 until May of Rp 28.90 billion for various activities. While the Partnership Program has been distributed in 2011 through May of Rp 38.34 billion.
